SNOWDON

Campervan Layout for 4 People

Our SNOWDON BUILD

Our 4 berth campervan options are available in a couple of different layouts and very much depend on the size of the vehicle provided. Wider vehicles enable us to build two double size beds across the campervan. Narrower vehicles eg Mercedes Sprinters would involve pop-tops or extra bunks.

Our goal whilst designing and building a 4 berth was to ensure we had safe forward facing belted seats, large beds, space to move around in and a table area to sit 4 people comfortably.

Having lived many years in campervans we understand how essential it is to create beautiful and practical spaces. The designs we create we would happily live in our selves. Snowdon is no exception even though we do not have children we designed the space around children. Making sure their space was safe, cosy and easily accessible for both children and adults.

Relax In Comfort

The layout includes swivel seats which can be upholstered to match your seated bench cushions. Live edge fixed table with swivel out extension. We love that everyone can sit and enjoy the views out of the sliding door and windows. It's really important to us that all our designs mean that people can sit and enjoy the views!

Our Snowdon design has a large practical galley style kitchen with our iconic live edge oak worktop and splash-back. Plenty of practical kitchen storage, a gas hob, sink and even a hidden drawer to maximise the space.

The upper adults bed is 135cm by 195cm and is positioned so adults still have plenty of head clearance and can sit up comfortably. For this reason we included the upper cabinets along the kitchen and seating wall rather than over the bed. The second double bed has plenty of space too and is easy to get in and out of.

Overall we ensured there was plenty of space within the camper for people to move around in and not have to squeeze past each other.

BUILD SPECIFICATION

KITCHEN

Full size galley kitchen with beautiful live edge Pippy Oak worktop and splash back. There are 4 kitchen drawers which are all soft close, a 60cm unit for food storage, a 80cm unit which houses the sink and has space for toiletries and a bin. You can also have a 20cm wide pull-out larder or a unit with shelves. A very practical round stainless steel sink or you can upgrade to a square dark gunmetal option.

SEATING / THIRD BERTH

Driver and passenger swivel seats turn around to the table. An additional double belted seat which is a specialist, crash tested frame bolted through the van chassis and is forward facing to keep you as safe as possible. We box this frame in to keep it all looking beautiful with the rest of the van. We've also added side access storage and shoe store to save lifting up the sofa cushions. We strongly encourage clients to reupholster the drivers and passenger seats to match the upholstery on the bench seat to finish the look.

TABLE

Live edge oak or oak veneer fixed table which has a clever swivel out extension for the passenger seat. This means the table is not imposing the space when not needed.

TOILET

Portable toilet housed in a cupboard under the bed. Simply pulls out when needed.

SHOWER CUBICLE (OPTIONAL)

*XLWB Ducato/Boxer/Relay needed or LWB Sprinter.

Fully lined cubicle with handbasin, tap and shower mixer. Custom made stainless steel powder coated shower tray. Choice of tiles around the basin.

BEDS

There are two double beds across the rear of the campervan. The upper bed is 135cm by 195cm and is postioned to allow two adults to sit up comfortably in bed with head clearance. The lower bed for children and adults is 135cm by 180cm long we lowered this bed to allow the recommended standards for bunk bed clearance. We also ensured access to the bed was as wide as possible to ensure it was easy for people to climb in and out of. We even mocked the beds layout up during our design process to test that we could use the beds comfortably.

Climbing in and out of upper beds can be tricky so we kept the bed low as we could and added a pull-out oak step if needed too.

STORAGE

There are 4 large upper cabinets with plenty of storage for clothes. The kitchen has plenty of storage for food, pots & pans and crockery etc.

We also build in storage for shoes and clothes under the additional belted seat sofa. Bulkhead storage cabinet for larger bulky items. Dependant on van this can come with our without a door. Garage space for equipment, tables and chairs etc.

HEATING

Eberspacher diesel heater which is plumbed directly in the fuel tank. It comes with the pro controller with in built thermostat so it automatically clicks in and out according to the desired temperature. You can also use the timer so you can wake up to it being warm or come back from a day out to a warm van!

GAS

Choice of small 907 gas locker with 907 gas canister or underslung 20-25 litre gas tank (recommended to maximise internal space)

LIGHTING

Handmade copper lights throughout and custom made CNC feature lighting.

INSULATION & VENTILATION

Insulation is incredibly important to keep a camper warm in winter and cool in summer as well as reducing condensation in the living space. We either use professional spray foam insulation or use traditional building insulation such as Celotex 25 and 50mm foam board, spray foam in the tricky to reach spots, earth wool, silver bubble wrap and aluminium tape to create a vapour barrier.

We use MaxxAir Delux Fans and MaxxAir Skylights to provide ventilation and extra light through our campers

GARAGE AREA

Electrics cupboard with hinged door to keep everything safe and LED lighting. There is space for storage. A pull-out storage tray for 4x10ltr water containers. Rubber flooring.

ELECTRICS

Our Snowdon design includes a full Victron electrics system located in the garage area. Powered by DC charging, solar charging and hook-up. We include 300w of flexible solar panels, they are light (important on a LWB build) and discrete. We use Roamer Lithium leisure batteries (size dependant on needs but minimum of 210ah). The electrics are designed so that the van can be used fully off-grid but without being over-spec'd if not needed. We find out exactly what the customer needs and then design the electrical system around them. There are various upgrades available including remote monitoring of your electrics if required. However we find our tried and tested standard setup works perfectly well for most of our customers.

EXTERNAL & SECURITY UPGRADES

We offer several options to transform the exterior of your camper. Including vinyl wraps, alloys, all terrain tyres, wheel, ladder and roof racks, pop-tops, mobile internet and many more options listed below.

We also assist with several security enhancements to your vehicle including trackers and immobilisers which are Thatcham rated.

Weight Considerations

Please note we do have to make sure that your build does not become over weight especially on long wheel base vehicles. Every component and additional upgrade will add weight to your campervan. We have to balance design, functionality and additional kit to make sure your campervan has enough payload left for passengers, water, food and belongings etc. Please carefully think about what you require in your build, we are here to help offer advice on this.
