MEET THE TEAM
Hello
Brown Bird and Company Limited started with our first campervan build called Scafell in 2017. After extensive travelling we started building campervans working from home. As the campers sold quickly we started taking on commissions and increasing our build slots and soon we were moving to bigger workshops. James joined the business in 2022 and we have now grown to a team of 6. We have a large workshop that enables us to work on 4-5 builds at a time. We are located near Thirsk in beautiful North Yorkshire.

Meet The TEAM
Jacqueline Fiddes-Brown
Founding Director
Jacqui is the adventure seeking designer behind Brown Bird & Co.
She oversees the daily operations and strategic vision of the company. She's hands on with all aspects of the build process, including design and innovation, as well as managing our online social media profiles and building our websites.
She is a great believer that amazing design can be achieved in small spaces. With a 32 year background in design and product development, she loves the creative and problem solving challenges that building campervans presents.
She loves being on top of a mountain or parking up in a beautiful location, popping the coffee pot on the stove and taking in the views.
Laura Fiddes-Brown
Director
Laura is the mountain and climbing obsessed geek behind Brown Bird & Co. She enjoys the challenges of building campervans and creating beautiful functional homes on wheels.
Known as the ‘grafter’ of the company, she does a variety of different jobs including ceiling installations, carpentry and furniture making, insulation, carpeting and fitting exterior upgrades along with the important background work like the business accounts and is also the main customer facing person of the team responding to enquiries and preparing quotes.
Laura loves the freedom vanlife offers and loves to be in the mountains as much as possible when herself and Jacqui get any spare time! Planning adventures is definitely Laura’s favourite pastime and is a great believer in making the most of every spare moment.
James Lumley
Director
James is the technical wizard who brings multiple trades to Brown Bird & Co. From joinery to CNC machined cabinets to off-grid electrical systems, he has a varied skillset for tackling any design brief.
Living part time in his classic camper which he has converted to electric, James enjoys the simplicities of vanlife and the freedom it brings. When not tinkering with machines, he's either snowboarding in the mountains or chasing Laura up a climbing wall!
Graham
Senior Workshop Technician
Graham is a multidisciplinary freelance designer based in sunny West Yorkshire with over 30 years experience in graphic and digital design, before establishing his own logo design studio in 2021.
Being able to step away from the screen, and getting his hands dirty with the Brown Bird & Co team has proven to be a great way to mix his creative knowhow into the wonderful challenges of van building.
When he’s not obsessing about logos (he designed our company logo) and building campervans he makes the wooden WhittleBirds that come free with every van we make.
