Position: Campervan Conversion Technician

About the Role

Brown Bird and Company specialise in transforming Land Rover Defenders, VW T6’s and Mercedes Sprinters into beautifully crafted campervans. We are a design led, customer focussed campervan conversion business. We believe in providing our customers with unique and exceptional experiences on the road by building beautiful, practical and unique campervans with great attention to detail and quality craftsmanship. 

We’re looking for a skilled Campervan Conversion Technician to join our workshop team. In this role, you’ll bring creativity and precision to every build, turning customer dreams into adventure-ready campers.

What You’ll Do

Fabrication & Assembly

  • Build and install key components such as pop-top roofs, windows, insulation, walls, floors, cabinetry, seating, and storage.
  • CNC skills would be beneficial or a willingness to learn CNC skills is an essential part of this role.
  • Knowledge of 12v electrical systems, plumbing and heating. (Training can be provided)
  • Work with a variety of materials including wood, metal, and composites.
  • Assemble, fit, and finish custom interior features.

Quality Control

  • Ensure your high-standard of work throughout the build meets our companies and customer expectations.
  • Apply strong problem-solving abilities to help develop new ideas and help prevent any potential future issues.

Teamwork & Safety

  • Collaborate with our friendly team and follow project briefs diligently and efficiently to meet deadlines. Maintain a safe, organised and tidy workshop environment in line with our health and safety regulations. 
  • Safely operate power tools in a busy workshop environment.

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience in, vehicle or campervan conversions, coach building or a similar hands-on trade.
  • Skilled in carpentry, joinery, or fabrication.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and plans.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
