MEET THE TEAM
Hello
Brown Bird and Company Limited started with our first campervan build called Scafell in 2017. After extensive travelling we started building campervans working from home. As the campers sold quickly we started taking on commissions and increasing our build slots. We have a large workshop that enables us to work on 4 builds at a time. We specialise in Mercedes Sprinters, VW Crafters, MAN's, VW T6's and now Land Rover Defenders. We are located near Thirsk in beautiful North Yorkshire.

Jacqueline Fiddes-Brown
Founding Director
Founder and Director of Brown Bird and Company, specialising in the design and build of high-end contemporary campervans and bespoke Land Rover Defender conversions.
I lead the strategic direction of the company, overseeing product development, build processes, and brand positioning while ensuring every vehicle we produce reflects the quality, craftsmanship, and design standards we stand for.
Working at the intersection of design, engineering, and craftsmanship, I focus on developing efficient build systems and processes that allow us to deliver exceptional vehicles while maintaining precision and consistency across every project.
Our aim is simple: to create distinctive vehicles that combine luxury, functionality, and freedom — built for people who want to explore the world without compromising on design or comfort.
Laura Fiddes-Brown
Director
Director at Brown Bird and Company, specialising in the design and build of high-end contemporary campervans and bespoke Land Rover Defender conversions.
I work closely across both the workshop and customer journey — from the early stages of vehicle planning through to the final build and handover. My role combines hands-on involvement in the camper build process with ensuring our clients receive a thoughtful, personal experience throughout their project.
At Brown Bird & Company we take pride in delivering vehicles that combine modern design, practical functionality, and exceptional craftsmanship. Being directly involved in the build process allows me to ensure every detail reflects the quality and care our clients expect.
Passionate about creating vehicles that inspire adventure while maintaining comfort, usability, and refined design.
Laura loves the freedom vanlife offers and loves to be in the mountains as much as possible when herself and Jacqui get any spare time!

Behind every camper van we build is a close-knit team whose skill, care, and pride show in every detail—Graham, James, Neil, Mitch, Lee, Jonny, Laura, and Jacqui. Building a camper isn’t just about fitting parts together; it’s about craftsmanship, planning, and people who genuinely care about the end result. From precise electrical installs to beautifully finished cabinetry and thoughtful design touches, each member brings their own expertise while supporting one another to get things right. That teamwork means problems are solved faster, ideas are shared openly, and every van leaves the workshop ready for real adventures. It takes a skilled and dedicated team to build campers, but it takes a passionate one to build campers that families trust, enjoy, and make memories in for years to come.
